What you get

What it does for your shop.

  • One press

Scan from scanner on the purchase bill — the scan is attached when it says Scanned and attached.

  • Nothing more to install

The print bridge on the counter PC drives the scanner too.

  • Or a phone photo

No scanner? Attach a photo or a PDF instead.

Before you start

What to have ready.

Windows sees the scanner; the bridge is on this PC.

Getting ready

  1. Install the scanner's Windows driver and scan one page with Windows' own scanning app, to be sure Windows sees it.

  2. Install the print bridge on this PC (course: Counter PC and receipt printer). It drives the scanner — nothing else to install.

  3. Scanning onto a bill is for whoever enters purchase bills: the owner, a store manager or a purchase officer.

  • A scanner installed in Windows (WIA)
  • The print bridge on that PC — it drives the scanner too
  • Someone who enters purchase bills: owner, store manager or purchase officer

Switch it on

Switch it on, step by step.

The bridge running and paired is all it takes.

In the back officePurchasing → Purchase bills → Original bill scanWho can do it: owner, store manager, purchase officer
  1. Open Settings → Counter PC on the PC with the scanner: it must say “bridge v… · paired”.

  2. Nothing more to switch on: the bridge uses the first scanner Windows has. Close other scanning programs first — one scan runs at a time.

Test it

Check it really works.

“Scan from scanner” on a purchase bill.

  1. Put the supplier's bill on the scanner. Open Purchasing → Purchase bills and open the bill you entered for it.

  2. Under “Original bill scan”, press “Scan from scanner”. When it says “Scanned and attached”, the file shows in the list.

When something goes wrong

What VASAH tells you, and what to do.

No scanner, busy, already scanning, no bridge.

  • “No scanner found on this PC — check it is plugged in and powered on”: check the cable and the power, and that Windows sees it.

  • “The scanner is busy or offline — close other scanning software and try again”.

  • “A scan is already running — wait for the scanner to finish”.

  • “Print bridge not running on this PC — install it from Settings → Counter PC (it also drives the scanner), or use Attach photo / PDF instead.”: install the bridge, or take a phone photo and use “Attach photo / PDF”.

Good to know

What it does not do.

  • The scanner must be one Windows can scan with (WIA), on a PC with the print bridge.
  • One scan runs at a time, and other scanning programs must be closed.
  • Scanning onto a bill is for whoever enters purchase bills: the owner, a store manager or a purchase officer.
