Any USB scanner that types like a keyboard
Scan, and the piece is on the bill.
Plug in a USB barcode scanner set to send Enter after each scan. At the counter the piece is added at once; in a stock count, the count goes up by one.

What you get
What it does for your shop.
At the counter
Scan a VASAH label and the item is on the bill; scan it again and it becomes 2.
In stock counts
Scan into the count and the number goes up by one.
Returns from the receipt
A 2D scanner reads the QR on a receipt and opens Return / Exchange on that bill.
Suppliers' barcodes
Save a supplier's barcode on the variant and it scans like your own.
Before you start
What to have ready.
- A USB barcode scanner that works as a keyboard
- Set to send Enter after every scan
- A 2D scanner, if you want to scan the QR on receipts for returns
Set it up
Set it up, step by step.
Keyboard mode, with Enter at the end of each scan.
Plug the scanner into the PC. Most work as a keyboard straight away.
Set it to send Enter after each scan, with the setup barcode in the scanner's own manual. Test in Notepad: the code appears and the cursor moves to a new line.
To scan the QR printed on receipts (for returns), the scanner must read 2D codes; a 1D scanner reads only the bars on labels.
Test it
Check it really works.
Scan a label, the test-page QR and a receipt QR.
At the counter, scan a VASAH label: the item is added. Scan it again: the quantity becomes 2.
With a 2D scanner, scan the QR on the print bridge's test page: the counter says “Scanner + printer QR check passed ✓”. Scan a receipt's QR: Return / Exchange opens on that bill.
In Stock → Stock count, open a count and scan into “Scan barcode…”: the counted number goes up by one.
When something goes wrong
What VASAH tells you, and what to do.
No Enter, double scans, unknown or wrong codes.
The code appears in the box but nothing is added: the scanner sends no Enter. Set the Enter suffix from its manual.
One scan adds two pieces: the scanner sends twice. Change its settings, and take the extra piece off with the − key.
The search box opens with the code: VASAH does not know it. Check the variant on the style page; a supplier's barcode must be saved as that variant's “Supplier barcode (optional)”.
The wrong size or colour comes up: the code is saved on the wrong variant. Fix it on the style page — VASAH never lets one code sit on two variants.
In a stock count an unknown code shows in red with the code: find that piece by its design code and type its count.
Good to know
What it does not do.
- The scanner must work as a keyboard and send Enter after each scan.
- Only a 2D scanner reads the QR on receipts; a 1D scanner reads the bars on labels.
- A code belongs to one variant — VASAH never lets one code sit on two.

Barcode scanner
A USB scanner types the code like a keyboard — at the counter, in stock counts and when goods arrive. Nothing to switch on in VASAH.
